About the Instructor
In a world of conventions you will find a most unconventional Powerskating Coach in Ryan. He learned early in his career that if you can maximize your speed. It can be turned into a weapon on the ice.
Ryan is originally from Michigan skating from a young age and was brought up through the travel hockey leagues known for his speed.
Ryan’s coaching career began with an apprenticeship with Robby Glantz, Former powerskating coach for the Los Angelos Kings & the current NHL Network’s head skating consultant. He further honed his craft by working with many national & international powerskating coaches including the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes powerskating coach and coaching with the head skating coach of the NHL’s New York Rangers. Ryan was then offered the position of head powerskating coach for the Carolina Hurricanes minor league affiliate (Florida Everblades) of the ECHL. In Florida, he was also named powerskating and pre-season boot camp coach for Florida Gulf Coast University. Ryan was also instrumental in helping to build the Southwest Hockey Academy as their first powerskating coach.
Throughout his coaching career, Ryan has continued his craft to work with future NHL draft picks, AHL, ECHL, NCAA, USPHL, and prep school players.
Ryan’s unique custom-tailored skating systems are designed for players to easily break down to own and master skills.
